Course Description

This video is a Playalong/Lesson of some primary limb independence exercises between left hand (snare drum) and right foot (bass drum). Equal focus on a flowing, steady (but not stiff) ride cymbal jazz pattern and hi-hat on 2 and is important. You will hear/see the example played on the drum kit for 4 bars, then the next 4 will be piano and bass only.

Skill goals from this lesson:

1) Developing primary snare and bass drum independence and 8th note comping rhythms in a musical context.

2) Improve reading skills.

3) Focus on steady ride cymbal feel without sounding overly rigid.
